A lovely photograph of a highland cow sent in by Oliver. He had to over come his fear of cows to shoot this picture for us after a rather fearful incident a few months ago. So thank you to Oliver:-)

Don’t Eat the Cyanide Moths

It’s been another hectic weekend and we’ve had a blast with a houseful of welcome visitors and a local festival; all throughout the hottest days of the year so far.

It’s Grandad’s birthday and to celebrate we take a trip on the steam train and explore the church at Goathland.

Are you thankful for your garden? We talk about the importance of green space and what the garden means to us. Plus, join Frogger and Toad for their weekly highlights.

Following our week of birthdays, Frogger tells us all about her wee party with her home educating friends and sits in the hot seat as we fire this years birthday quiz at her.

Paul and Frogger have been foraging and we discuss the abundance of food to be found in the hedgerows, the garden and the woods. We talk about how to take the sting out of eating nettles and share some delicious recipes to try out with your own children.

Finally, Toad and Frogger share their Scores of the Week.

Please note there will be no podcast next week, we will return in two weeks time. In June too! (June is busting out all over….)

The Birthday Girls

The birthday season has officially began. On this weeks podcast we celebrate not one, but two big days in our calendar. Firstly, Newt turns 2 closely followed by our eldest amphibian, Frogger. We try our best not to allow our beliefs and healthy eating ideals to slide by creating a low sugar, grain free, nut free chocolate brownie cheese cake.
We discuss our attempts to begin new and inexpensive birthday traditions. We share our ideas for birthday parties, games and food and hope to inspire our listeners to share their own traditions and ideas with us.
Join Frogger and Toad for their ‘Scores Of The Week’.

Frogger is creepy crawly crazy and becomes an amateur entomologist. She describes what she has caught and what she knows about them.

We also review our current books, Llama Drama and Famous Five: Five on Kirrin Island again.
