It’s our Home Education first birthday! Join us on our one year anniversary as we discuss our successes and challenges and our hopes for the future. We visit the wonderful Boggle Hole YHA for a couple of nights. We discuss the mysterious Boggle from Boggle Hole and Hob of Hob Hole in Runswick Bay.
Summer is here – at last – sort of. So we talk about our top 5 favorite beach activities. It does not include eating sandy sandwiches, the smell of stinky seaweed and the abundance of flies trying to drink your salty sweat.
This week, we go out and about geocaching with dad, chat about Tim Peake’s fiery return to earth and review the book that we have just finished, Anne Of Green Gables. We also end up endorsing two of the best cafe’s in Whitby after a trip out with Grandad for his birthday. Oh, it’s 3 ½ days until Toads birthday, if you didn’t already know;-).
Not so long ago we found ourselves in a situation in which one of us wanted to Home Educate and the other didn’t, hear our discussion on what worked for us and how we found a way forward, we also discuss art from the perspective of a non-artist parent and share how useful we find artforkidshub.com. Frogger and Toad enjoy talking about their experiences in the week which include Unity Adventure Club and a very small private music festival that we attended.
Escaping the depressing fog of the North East coast we head to Malton and discover one of the oldest medieval villages in the UK at Wharram Percy– we recorded live too! Frogger and Toad share their scores of the week. We discuss different structures within HE and suggest ways of implementing these models.
It’s double celebration time in our house with both Baby G and Frogger’s birthday in the same week. We enjoyed Mulgrave Castle open garden day as well as visiting the Play Factory in Skelton. Join the children for score of the week and see how we managed to celebrate without over consuming sugar.
Toad and Frogger have both completed their magical journey on Teach your monster to read-the online phonics game. We visited the Whitby Abbey site and had a fun day of sunshine with lots of other home educating families and hear about the latest plans to close public toilets. Save Sandsend!
