A full house again this week as Frogger is fully recovered from her short illness, just in time too as we were still able to attend the pantomime we were very much looking forward to. For next years pantomime and to find out more visit eastdurhamcreates.co.uk.
We are still battling against plastic and finding the task rather infuriating and frustrating but we are plodding on. Check out plasticfreepantry.co.uk for some kitchen essentials.
As January draws to a close we share what we are working on this term and the subjects we are covering, plus join Frogger and Toad for their scores of the week.
Frogger is feeling rather under the weather this week so we decided to give the children’s voices a wee rest and do the show with just us so-called grown-ups. As the children were absorbed elsewhere, Sarah and Paul chat about what to do when home educating becomes challenging.
We discuss how it’s perfectly reasonable to feel burned out at times and we bounce back and forth ideas on how to find a spot of me-time in amongst the chaos, the importance of having a break and how partners can support any full-time educators by allowing and creating opportunities for self-care.
Join us again next week as the children return to our podcast in good health (fingers crossed) we share plastic pollution solutions and talk about our academic topics.
Welcome to the home education podcast. Our focus this week is on plastics, despite a long overdue acknowledgement from our government that it is actually a problem, we believe that 25 years is too long to wait. So why not join us now to fight against the unnecessary use of plastics and find out what we’ve been doing to try and reduce the amount we use.
After getting stuck on equivalent fractions we turn to the usborne mathematics dictionary to lend a hand and finally, Frogger and Toad share their weekly highlights.
We’re back and we wish you all a Happy New year and all the best for 2018. We hope you’ve had a super time celebrating with friends, family and food.
On today’s show Frogger and toad review the Green science weather station kit and the robotic arm building set. (Put links in)
We also talk about the increase in the number of families deciding to home educate, which has tripled in some counties. What were your reasons for home educating, flexi schooling or choosing school? We share some of our many reasons and talk about our response to the call to register all families.
Finally, frogger and toad share their scores of the holidays.
As always, get in contact with us to share your comments, experiences and suggestions. Happy home edding!!
